About the Functional Skills course?
From Entry Level to Level 2 Functional Skills Certificate in English, Maths and ICT
Functional Skills are the essential skills needed for ENGLISH, MATHS and ICT, vital for young people and adults to participate in life, learning and work.
This qualification is intended to support you to improve your literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. particular focus on problem solving and being able to apply skills effectively in real situations.
Entry Requirements for the Functional Skills Course
If at school you need to be aged between 14-16 years. To be on a Study Programme you must be aged between 16-18.
Entry Level and Level 1: There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Level 2: Completion of Level 1 English, Maths or ICT and able to provide evidence for this. Start dates are flexible.

If you are looking to improve your confidence in English ,Maths or ICT, catch up on study you may have missed at school, then Functional Skills are for you.
How are they assessed?
Assessment is on demand throughout the year either by on-screen or paper based-assessment.
